Good morning. October is the season of spooky fun, but let’s be honest, sometimes life feels scarier than any haunted house. Between school chaos and planning all the things, it’s easy to forget what this season is really about: laughter, connection, and those little moments that make it all worth it.
Today’s newsletter is packed with quick wins to bring the fun (and the calm) back. So grab your pumpkin spice latte (or whatever you love) and dive in. Your five-minute read might just change the way you handle the rest of the week.

What was the top-selling Halloween candy in America in 2024?
Find the answer (#22) on the post Halloween trivia
Last Friday, I caught the stomach bug. The timing was bad. The kids had a day off of school. My hubby was out of town. And I was really sick (and out of it) for most of the day.
But, by the end of it, I learned a little life lesson.
You see, the thing about getting sick is that it forces you to let go.
I couldn’t work. I couldn’t parent. I did absolutely ZERO tasks on my to-do list.
- Did my kids burn down the house?
- Did my business fail because I didn’t look at it?
- Did my youngest try to run away? (All real fears I had)
No. In fact, the opposite happened. Life went on just fine.
My big kids stepped up. They brought me water, cleaned the kitchen, and helped their little sister get fed. Everyone entertained themselves. I started to think “WHO ARE THESE CHILDREN?!”
And more importantly, “why do I hold on so tight?”
You and I are leaders. As parents, we’re raising the next generation. And every single person is in the business of making the world a better place.
But that doesn’t mean you should be stressed and overwhelmed. When that happens, you’re just doing too much (And not necessarily the right things either).
Give others a chance to step up, and more often than not, they’ll rise to the occasion.
Take the Get Your Life Back Challenge this week to help you realign your priorities and find more peace in your days. I do it this time every year, and my kids just reminded me why it’s so important.
