Every December, the little town bakery filled the air with the smell of cinnamon and fresh bread. Donna loved stopping in on her way home, especially when the snow was falling softly outside. One evening, she noticed an elderly man counting coins in his palm, eyes lingering on a small box of cookies he clearly couldn’t afford.
Without thinking twice, Donna bought the box and handed it to him with a smile. The man’s eyes widened in surprise, then softened with gratitude. “For me?” he whispered, as if the idea was too big to hold.
