“This Role Raises the Bar for Me”: Mohit Malik on Netflix Series Yeh Dil Sunn Raha

Mohit Malik, who made a striking Bollywood debut with Azaad as the antagonist, is steadily carving a niche for himself on the big screen and beyond. The actor will next be seen in Netflix’s upcoming romance-thriller series Yeh Dil Sunn Raha, where he stars alongside Zoya Afroz and Shaheer Sheikh.

The cast, including Mohit, attended Netflix’s content announcement event, where the actor spoke candidly about his excitement for the project. Opening up about his role, Mohit shared that the series allowed him to explore a completely different psychological and emotional space. For him, stepping out of familiar territory is essential. He shared, “I’m quite thrilled to be part of this series. It allows me to explore a different psychological and emotional space with this character. As an artist, you always want to be pushed out of your comfort zone and avoid repetitive roles. This is a role where I feel I can explore myself further as an actor, and it certainly raises the bar for me. The show is very close to my heart-the title itself is mysterious and intriguing. To sum it up, romance isn’t just an emotion; it can also drive conflict.”

Yeh Dil Sun Raha is directed by Kapil Sharma and boasts a strong writing team comprising Nilanjana Purkayasstha, Paromita Ghosh, Pranjal Saxena, and Shashank Kunwar. The series is produced by Aditya Pittie, Samar Khan, and Herumb Khot.

Apart from this Netflix project, Mohit Malik will also be seen in Mirzapur: The Film. Additionally, reports suggest that the actor may soon step into the action genre with Force 3, the third installment of the popular franchise. If the rumours are true, Mohit is set to play the antagonist, locking horns with John Abraham.
