Prezzo is the perfect restaurant for families as there’s literally something for everyone on their expansive, excellent Italian menu and it really is a child-centred upmarket chain, making it ideal for those dining with children of all ages. There are even two children’s menu options available reflecting their inclusive ethos for both young and older children alike.

The service is also top-notch too. Assistant manager Connor was warm and welcoming, and our waitress Malwina was attentive and affable throughout, taking extra care regarding allergies, and ensuring we were comfortable and content throughout.
Nothing was too much trouble whether that was ordering extra garlic bread, or offering suggestions for dishes based on tastes and dietary requirements, and the outstanding standard of service stretched to everyone dining there, not just to us, reviewing (I was observing)!

Located within the city walls, conveniently opposite The Grand Opera House on the bustling Clifford Street in York city centre, a mere 15 minutes from the train station (it was a chance for my husband, Peter, and I to try their exquisite peach bellinis and enjoy a pale ale as we weren’t driving for once) with vast windows pulling in the light (however miniscule in February), dining at Prezzio really does feel like a treat without the crazy prices.
The York branch has that winning combination of dishes made with attention to detail and an emphasis on bold and delicious flavours, super service and stunning, bright surroundings. You want to feel uplifted when dining out and this is a definite dopamine releaser of a place!

We admittedly arrived ravenous (myself post an 18 hour Intermittent Fasting window) so consumed most of the menu including some new specials, as you’ll see below.
Starters spanned marinated, tangy green and black olives (with yummy whole garlic cloves I inhaled); buttery, oven-baked king prawns sprinkled with finely chopped chilli, some crispy calamari, creamy hummus and their new honey-glazed mozzarella sticks in a tomato sauce. Told you we ate a lot and this was just the start!
The kids opted for garlic bread on the side of all of the above (!) which is made from Prezzo’s famous hand-stretched pizza dough sprinkled with fresh garlic and parsley. This was met with an appreciative ‘yum’ from Florence, 4.

Main courses were equally ‘yum’ and are as follows:

Perfectly crisp and gooey mozarella pizza both kids opted for (the eldest was at home revising) as well as ‘The Veggie One Pizza’ with no scrimping on cheese nor veggies it must be noted and their new ‘Signature Nduja Roasted Chicken’ which was half a golden chicken in a rich and tangy sausagey sauce. Sides were brocolli dusted with Parmesan, and roasted new potatoes. Thumbs up from everyone on this moorish fare!

Desserts are always my favourite course and whilst I’m following an Inflammatory Diet, I’m all for moderation and some chocolate cake in the mix- and Prezzo’s never fails to disappoint.
Hello there a sticky toffee pudding dreams are made of, hot chocolate fudge cake, warm, with vanilla ice cream; a mango sundae Florence concocted (children can choose ice cream/ sorbet flavours and toppings from the children’s menu) with caramel sauce, squirty cream and sprinkles, and some icing sugar dusted donuts with nutella for my son, Alexander. Wow!

Someone was excited to try a bit of everything as you can see!
What a truly wonderful meal!!
Do check out the offers Prezzo have on via their website and book yourself a meal there pronto!

You’ll be relieved to read *wink, that we burnt the ten million calories consumed in the famous Rowntree Park after for a stroll and play in their sprawling playgrounds, which is well worth a visit too!

Thank you Prezzo!
This was a complimentary meal but as always, my words are honest and true.
