According to the latest updates, Zee Studios has bagged both the OTT and satellite rights of Karuppu for a whopping price of over ₹43 crore. However, the makers have not officially announced these reports, yet.
But now, it is safe to assume that Karuppu will have its OTT release on Zee5, the popular streaming platform, soon after the film completes its theatrical run. Along with the original Tamil version, the RJ Balaji directorial is expected to stream on the platform in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages. The Suriya starrer is expected to make its world television premiere on Zee Tamil, after its lifetime run on big screens.

Earlier, the action drama film, which marks the first onscreen collaboration of Suriya and RJ Balaji, was expected to hit the theatres in February 2026. However, the latest updates have confirmed that the release of Karuppu is now pushed to April 2026. But, a final decision on the same will be made only after the election commission announces the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election dates.
Along with Suriya, Karuppu features a massive star cast including Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maaya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, Yogi Babu, and RJ Balaji in the key roles. Sai Abhyankkar composed the songs and original score for the film, which is bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures.
