Samara Tijori starred in the latest release, Daldal, a psychological crime thriller that’s winning hearts worldwide. Not many know that before venturing into acting, Samara has worked as an Assistant Director for Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship, starring Vicky Kaushal. Recently, she recalled an interesting trivia from the horror-suspense film that highlights Vicky Kaushal’s love and dedication towards acting, stating that there is no better opportunity than to learn from the Chhaava actor live.
Calling it an “unreal experience,” Samara says, “I worked on that movie because I wanted to act. And I have seen Vicky’s work for a very long time. There is no better opportunity than to learn from him live. What I have seen him do on Bhoot, I learned so much from him.”
Samara mentions that the setup on-set was that of the bottom of a ship, and the art department had pulled up the water level to knee-length. “And in that water, the whole crew is running,” she says and adds that the water track has dolly, camera, people’s slippers, and wrappers. “Coffee and food color has been put in to make it look how it is. People are going out and coming in. Everyone is wearing slippers and roaming in that water. It was not a very clean water body. And I have seen Vicky do action in that water. I am pretty sure he drank some of it,” she says.
Samara elaborated on Vicky’s love for acting. She offered a peek into his acting shift, recalling an incident when he arrived on a morning set after completing dance rehearsals the night before. “When Vicky goes into his character, it’s only him – and you can see that. I told myself that this is the level of hardwork. He came onto the set at 7 am after doing a dance rehearsal all night. That rehearsal ended at 5:30 – 6 in the morning. He is on set at 7 a.m. to work a 7-to-7 shift. More than dedication, it’s the love you have for art that pushes you. There was him, and there was Bhumi Pednekkar. And now in Daldal, I am working with her as a co-star – and for me it’s like a full circle!”
Meanwhile, Samara Tijori steps into the world of Daldal as a serial murderer and adds an edge to the gritty world. She shares the screen space with Bhumi Satish Pednekkar and Aditya Rawal among others. Daldal currently streams on Amazon Prime Video.
