1- What’s something you’re unlearning as adults in a relationship?
I think as we grow up, we are largely shaped by our parents and the environment we come from. When you enter a relationship, you are essentially bringing together two different upbringings, cultures, and ways of thinking, two families coming into one space. As the relationship evolves, these differences become more evident, especially because boys and girls are often raised differently, even in terms of parenting. Over time, you begin to unlearn many things that you were taught in childhood- how you should behave, communicate, or respond to your partner. The way you treat your partner also changes, and you start becoming more aware and adaptable. Whether it’s sharing responsibilities at home, understanding your partner’s mental stress, or being mindful of her vulnerabilities, you learn to be more sensitive and empathetic. In the process, you let go of certain rigid beliefs that were once deeply ingrained in you and try to see things from your partner’s perspective, putting yourself in their shoes and growing together.
2- What makes this series stand out from typical love or marriage stories?
I think his writing definitely sets it apart from a typical family love story. The nuances he captures and the subtle humour in his writing really stand out. Varun’s approach to slice-of-life storytelling, both in writing and direction, feels incredibly real, yet still ideal in many ways. Because of this, most couples watching the series can either relate to it deeply, seeing reflections of themselves in the characters, or aspire to be like them in their own lives. That’s what truly makes it stand out from other love stories and family dramas.
3- Marathi ZEE5 has been bringing modern, rooted stories. How does this show reflect that shift?
I truly admire the way ZEE5 is exploring different genres, and I’m really happy to see them expanding their content with such diverse shows. I’m sure they will attract a lot of attention, especially when it comes to Marathi content. I believe that’s what sets them apart from others, and overall, they are doing an amazing job.
