The creator-focused talent management firm Night has raised $70 million in a significant financing round, with plans to expand into gaming, sports, music and live events.
Founded by Reed Duchscher, Night’s roster of creators includes Kai Cenat, Sam and Colby, T-Pain, Tara Davis-Woodhall, Hunter Woodhall and the Kalogeras Sisters.
The company says it plans to use the funds to “build, operate and acquire businesses embedded in internet culture across all facets of media and entertainment, including digital media, music, sports, gaming, podcasting, streaming and live events.”
The company has already been strategically acquisitive, buying the experiential marketing and events firm Experiential Supply Co. last year, and the Roost Podcast Network from Warner Bros. Discovery in 2024 (Roost’s shows include the popular This Past Weekend with Theo Von).
Of course, gaming, sports and music are among the most popular genres for creators, with livestreams and original TikTok and YouTube content around those topics surguing. Night has also been pushing into experiential entertainment and live events, which are also on the rise as people seek to forge a closer relationship with the content and creators they follow.
“The most important media companies of the future will be built by teams who best understand internet media and culture,” Duchscher, said in a statement, “We’ve all seen the seismic shift of attention moving away from traditional entertainment to content creators’ digital channels. We believe this will continue to accelerate and become even more prevalent across other sectors of entertainment like music, sports, and events.”
