Dhurandhar 2 Dubbed Versions Update: The rollout of the southern language versions of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has faced last-minute delays, with the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada releases not aligning with the film’s initial nationwide launch. While the Hindi version hit theatres on March 19 following paid previews a day earlier, audiences in the southern markets are having to wait slightly longer.
As of March 20, the Tamil version is expected to begin with evening shows. In contrast, the Telugu and Malayalam versions are likely to see a wider release from March 21, with exhibitors planning regular shows from Saturday onward. Advance bookings for these versions have already opened in several cinema chains.
According to a report by India Today, the delay was due to dubbing and certification processes not being completed in time for the premieres. The Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions have now received clearance, while the Kannada version is yet to be approved.
The Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions reportedly received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) only on March 19, which left little time for distribution logistics. As a result, theatres were unable to screen these versions alongside the Hindi release, leading to cancellations and rescheduling in multiple cities.
Exhibitors now indicate that the required prints have started reaching theatres on March 20, making it possible for Tamil shows to begin later in the day. However, a full-fledged rollout for Telugu and Malayalam versions is expected only from the next day to ensure smoother scheduling and availability across regions. The Kannada version, however, is expected to release on March 23, as indicated by BookMyShow listings.
