Using bright, fun items like M&Ms, markers, or other colorful objects, kids get to pick a color and answer a matching question about themselves. Each color unlocks a different prompt. Maybe they’re sharing about a hobby, their family, or their favorite entertainment.

Supplies You Need

• A bag of M&Ms in classic colors (you can also give each person a fun-size pack)

• A bowl or cup (optional)

What if you don’t want to use M&Ms?

This game can be played many different ways! You don’t have to play with M&Ms, or even candy. You can substitute:

How to Play The Colorful Facts Icebreaker Game

There are two ways to play:

1. Pass out your M&Ms (or other colorful item). Each person picks out one or two candies. Based on the color picked, they share the corresponding thing about themselves.

2. Or dump an entire bag of M&Ms into a cup or bowl. Pass the cup around and have players pick a candy without looking. Based on the color picked, they share the corresponding fact.

Here’s an example of one of the printables:

• Red: Talk about your favorite animal
• Green: Tell what you ate for breakfast
• Yellow: Share about your favorite place to go
• Purple: Share what you’d do if you had $1,000
• Orange: Talk about your favorite movie
• Brown: Share something you’re good at
