Good morning, and welcome back to the table.
There’s something we don’t talk about enough…
How often we hold back. From trying. From speaking up. From going all in. Because what if it doesn’t work out?
But the moments that shape us (and our kids) the most… usually come from doing it anyway.
Trying the thing. Playing the game. Laughing, failing, learning. All of it.
Today, let’s show up fully. Not perfectly. Just fully.

Just The Kind of Silly Fun Kids Can’t Get Enough Of ⬇️
I’ve been talking to my kids about effort lately.
Mostly in sports. But the concept applies to all of life.
Sometimes, when my kids get on the field or court, I’ll notice them holding back.
They’re afraid of making a mistake.
I can practically see them thinking, “It’s better to let that ball go than to be wrong. Or look foolish.”
So, instead of giving it their all, it’s an 80% effort.
(They go for it, but don’t really go for it, you know?)
I understand why. Failing hurts.
Giving 110% only to come up short is painful to the ego.
But whether you’re a kid or an adult, holding back keeps people from truly living.
You can’t be too scared
- To be a beginner again
- To make a change
- To stand up even when your voice shakes
TO GO FOR IT.
The reward is not always about winning or doing something exactly right. It’s in knowing that you threw in all your chips.
And if it doesn’t work out, then so be it.
At least you KNOW. At least you can say that you tried.
You won’t be one of the souls on this earth who wonder what could have been.
