As we engaged in a meaningful conversation with Tanya Sharma, she bared her heart out and spoke about the love of acting.
Tanya, who is gaining massive attention for her work in the digital space, has impressed viewers with her performances. The audience connected with Tanya’s work in High Heels, praising her work. Projects such as Bakaiti and Ishq at Campus with Shaan’s son Maahi, have highlighted Tanya’s wide acting range.
In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Tanya Sharma revealed her experience working with Kishwer Merchant in High Heels season 2, spilling the beans on what the audience can expect in the second part.
Here are excerpts from the interview
-Season 1 ended on a shocking note with Ayesha being framed. What can fans expect from her journey in Season 2? Is this her comeback era?
Season 2 is definitely Ayesha’s turning point. She starts off in a very vulnerable space, but instead of breaking, she slowly begins to reclaim her voice and identity. It’s less about a loud comeback and more about a quiet, powerful rebuild. You’ll see her evolve in ways that even she didn’t expect.
-Ayesha goes through a major transformation this season. How did you approach playing her emotional and psychological shift?
For this, my approach was simple. I tried to keep her grounded and real, especially in moments where she’s confused or hurt. I didn’t want to “perform” the change, I wanted it to feel like it’s happening to her organically.
-The show dives deep into fashion, fame, and influencer culture-how relatable did this world feel to you personally?
Very relatable, honestly. Being in the digital space myself, I’ve seen how perception and reality can be very different. The pressure to constantly present a certain image is real, and I think the show captures that beautifully.
-If you had to describe Season 2 in three words, what would they be?
Raw. Intense. Unpredictable.
-You share some intense moments with Kishwer Merchant; what was your experience working with her on set? Did she give you any advice or insights that stayed with you?
Working with Kishwer is always incredible. She’s so present in every scene, and that pushes you to give your best.
-Off-screen, what is Kishwer like compared to her strong on-screen persona?
Oh my God, she’s such a fun human being off-screen, so warm and full of positivity. She’s so supportive, and it’s always fascinating to see how someone so grounded can switch into such a powerful on-screen presence. Love her. I am glad that I got to know her more through High Heels.
-High Heels Season 1 received a lot of love and even picked up awards. Did that validation add pressure while shooting Season 2?
A little bit, yes. When something is loved so much, you naturally want to do even better.
-You’ve quickly become one of the key faces of Filtercopy: how has that journey been so far?
It’s been really exciting and creatively fulfilling. FilterCopy has given me the space to explore different characters and connect with audiences in a very real way. I’ve grown a lot, both personally and professionally.
-Do you feel digital platforms today are creating stronger opportunities for actors compared to traditional routes?
Absolutely. Digital platforms have opened up so many doors, especially for fresh talent. There’s more experimentation, more diverse stories, and more chances to be seen for who you are as an artist.
-You’ve worked on projects like Bakaiti and Ishq at Campus, how different were those experiences compared to High Heels?
Each project has its own vibe. Bakaiti and Ishq at Campus were more light-hearted and youthful, while High Heels is layered and intense. As an actor, it’s been amazing to explore such different spaces.
