Jana Nayagan Release Update: The upcoming Tamil political action thriller Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, is reportedly moving closer to a crucial stage in its certification process after facing a prolonged delay earlier this year. According to the latest reports, the film is expected to be reviewed by the Revising Committee of the Central Board of Film Certification on March 9. If the process proceeds as anticipated, the certification could be issued within the following two weeks. However, an official announcement regarding the timeline is still awaited.

Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and Narain in prominent roles. The project marks the first Tamil production from KVN Productions and is widely reported to be Vijay’s final film appearance before he transitions fully into political life.

The film’s technical crew includes music composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan and editor Pradeep E. Ragav.

Originally scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026, the film encountered delays after certification issues arose during the review process. The makers had submitted the film to the certification board in December 2025, but the process did not conclude in time for the planned release date. The matter later involved legal proceedings and further examination by certification authorities.

With the film now reportedly heading to the Revising Committee, industry observers say the project could be aiming for a theatrical release in the second week of May, after the upcoming election period. The producers have not yet formally confirmed this potential release window.

Vijay Addresses Jana Nayagan Delay During Thanjavur Rally

Meanwhile, Vijay recently addressed the situation surrounding the film during a large public gathering in Thanjavur on March 4. As reported by India Today, the actor-politician responded to the ongoing discussion around the delay of Jana Nayagan while speaking to supporters.

“You may try to silence me, but you cannot silence every Vijay in every household,” he said during the event, a remark that many interpreted as a message aimed at his political rivals. While acknowledging the attention surrounding the film’s delay, he did not directly elaborate on the reasons behind the postponement.

Vijay And Trisha Krishnan’s Wedding Appearance Draws Attention Online

Separately, the actor was seen attending a wedding reception in Chennai recently alongside Trisha Krishnan. A video from the event, which has circulated widely on social media, shows Vijay arriving with a bouquet while Trisha follows as they enter the venue.

The two actors were attending the wedding reception hosted by film producer Kalpathi Suresh and his wife Meenakshi for their son. The Kalpathi family is known for its involvement in film production and distribution.

The appearance has drawn attention online, particularly as it comes after reports that Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, had filed for divorce.
