Here are excerpts from the interview

1) What drew you to Khushiyan Swati Ki Koshish Raju Ki and the character of Raju?

This project is very close to me. From the start, the idea was to tell a simple, honest story that people can see themselves in. Raju stood out because he represents the everyday Indian man. He’s not perfect, he’s figuring things out, and he keeps trying even when things don’t go his way. That emotional truth is what made me want to play him and be part of this journey.

2) Raju seems emotionally layered. How did you prepare to bring out his inner conflicts?

What I found interesting about Raju is that while he can be quiet in certain moments, he’s not someone who suppresses everything. When it really matters, he speaks his mind. He comes from a very humble, everyday background, so his reactions are shaped by that reality. He’s not overly expressive, but his emotions run deep. So, the preparation was about finding that balance, understanding when he chooses to hold back and when he decides to express himself. I tried to keep it natural and instinctive, so both his silences and his moments of honesty feel real.

3) Without giving spoilers, what makes this love story different from typical romantic dramas?

Khushiyan Swati Ki Koshish Raju Ki is not driven by dramatic twists or grand gestures. The story focuses on the in-between moments – love, chemistry, effort and the things left unsaid. At the same time, there are lighter, more everyday emotions that come through. There’s a natural comic timing in simple situations, and a certain level of innocence in both Raju and Swati that makes their relationship standout. You also see their aspirations, that adds another layer to their journey. All these emotions are what makes the story relatable.

4) The title hints at effort and sacrifice-how central are these themes to the story?

Both effort and sacrifice are at the heart of it. The story is far from a perfect love story. It really is about the effort it takes to build a relationship and sustain it. Both characters are seen trying in their own ways, and that push and pull is what drives the narrative forward.

5) Micro-dramas are gaining popularity-what excites you about this format?

The immediacy of it. With microdramas, you have a very short window to connect with the audience and to make their ‘har minute mazedaar’. A lot of times, these short-form series act as a refresher for in-between breaks, or as a snackable medium to consume content while on the go. It is quick, engaging, and despite the shorter format, the emotional impact is still strong.

6) How is acting in a microdrama different from longer formats like web series or films?

In longer formats, you have time to build your character gradually. Here, you have to establish everything almost instantly. It pushes you to be more precise and have every episode end on an interesting hook point for viewers to scroll to the next. In a microdrama, you may end up touching all the emotions in a series that has a 30-minute runtime.

7) You began your journey in casting and went on to act in films before building a strong social media presence. How has this journey shaped you as an actor?

Beginning my journey with casting has given me a strong kick-start. I was constantly observing actors, understanding what works on screen, and what makes a performance stand out. That exposure really shaped my perspective in my early years. When I moved into acting, especially with targeted roles in films, it became about applying those learnings. Being on set helped me understand the craft more deeply and also made me more disciplined.

Social media helped me connect directly with the audience. It gave me a sense of what people respond to, but also pushed me to be my genuine self. Overall, each phase has added something different, and together they’ve helped me grow into a more aware and grounded actor.

8) How was your experience working with the BULLET’S team?

Working with BULLET has been a great experience. The team understands what it takes to make minute episodes punchy and impactful. Seeing this content pan out like this was rewarding. We were all clear about the vision and the format. Also, what worked well was the fact that since microdrama is still in it nascent stages, there was a sense of experimentation, which made the process even more exciting and added to all our learnings.
