Good morning. As the end of the school year approaches, I’ve been thinking about a saying I heard once.
“You don’t rise to the level of your goals, but fall to the level of your systems.” Meaning, you should have routines and items in place to help you do the right thing. These “nudges” mean that you don’t have to rely on willpower alone.
Today’s articles and newsletter help dig into this more!

Now, looking at the articles – a chore chart, morning routine, and journaling practice are all systems. You want these in your life. And you want them ASAP for different things.
What are other great systems? Here’s what I’ve been brainstorming for one of my summer goals:
Eating Better
- Placing the healthy food in the front of your fridge and pantry. (While putting junk food in hard-to-reach spots)
- Ordering pickup for groceries so you’re less likely to impulse buy in the store
- Using smaller plates
- Using a weekly rotating themed meal plan
- Tracking your food intake in some way
- Organizing your kitchen so that ingredients and recipes are easy to find (making it less likely you order takeout)
These are tiny adjustments that can lead to huge results over time. And the same goes for any goal:
- Want to read more? Keep books nearby
- Need to be better about decluttering? Keep “donate” boxes ready in your closets
- Want to make play and connection a bigger part of your day? Print out questions, or keep a puzzle or game out on the table.
What are you looking to do more or less of this summer?
And what systems can you create in your home to make these goals a whole heck of a lot easier to achieve?
Find a quiet moment to pause and reflect.
Answer the reflection questions above, consider your goals, or simply let yourself BE for a little while.❤️
I welcome peace and calm into my week.
