No one’s perfect – Healthy Happy Impactful

Good morning. In today’s digital culture, it’s all too easy to focus on where you’re coming up short.

To feel like you need to be perfect to be worthy.

This week, I’m reminding you that you deserve the same grace you give to others. In the coming days, when you feel like you’re not enough –

  • Pause and notice
  • Take a deep breath
  • Remind yourself that you are doing your best, and nobody’s perfect.

Bottom line: What you do consistently will always be better than what you do occasionally.

Most People Ignore These Life Tweaks—and It’s Costing Them Daily Joy, Health, & Success

Big Idea: Life is SHORT. Treat your days as precious gems. These are things you can do immediately to improve them.

Here’s a little personal story to drive home the message about giving yourself grace. 🤣

Last year, I nicknamed my son’s backpack “The Black Hole.” He lost everything in that thing. Pencils, homework, you name it. As a result, we had more than a few lectures about personal responsibility.

Then, I went to “Meet the Teacher Night” in August. Before I headed home, I wrote my goal for my child on the notecard (as instructed by his teacher):

“I’d love for him to be more organized (less forgetful) this year.”

And then I immediately forgot to pick up my water bottle before walking out of his 7th-hour class. One day later, my son walks in the door with my pink water bottle in his hand. (His teacher had asked the group who’s parent left it)

He looks me in the eyes and says…”Mom, you lost something at my school before I did. That’s not very responsible…”

And then lectures me with a gigantic grin on his face. (Seriously, he was radiating with glee.)

Parenting is quite a journey.

Just when you think you’ve got the hang of it, you remember that life with kids is too messy to be perfect. But I’ll never forget his grin that day. Or the sparkle in his eyes. So, it’s worth it.

Where can you improve (but also give yourself grace while you do)?
