According to a report by PTI, nearly 9.50 lakh voters are eligible to cast their votes in this election. The electorate is spread across 30 Assembly segments, including 23 in Puducherry, five in Karaikal, and one each in Mahe and Yanam. Officials have set up 1,099 polling stations, with 209 identified as vulnerable, and security arrangements have been put in place accordingly.
Voters were seen queuing up outside polling booths from early morning, indicating steady participation. Women voters, numbering around 5.03 lakh, outnumber male voters, who account for approximately 4.46 lakh.
