This matters – Healthy Happy Impactful

Good morning. Some days are loud and playful. Some days ask us to slow down and remember what really matters. Today’s newsletter holds both.

There’s joy here. But also reflection. Moments to laugh, moments to pause, and reminders that how we show up for each other matters more than we think.

“I hate small talk.

I wanna talk about atoms, death, aliens,

sex, magic, intellect,

the meaning of life,

faraway galaxies, the lies you’ve told,

your flaws, your favorite scents,

your childhood, what keeps you up at night,

your insecurity and fears.

I like people with depth,

who speak emotion from a twisted mind.

I don’t want to know “what’s up.”

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. It’s a moment to remember history, honor those affected, and commit to kindness and understanding.

What can you do? Here are a few ideas:

  • Light a candle in memory of the six million Jewish lives lost and the millions of other victims of the Holocaust. Reflect silently for a few minutes and then discuss the history with kids or grandkids.
  • Learn a survivor’s story by reading a memoir, watching a documentary, or listening to recorded testimonies.
  • Attend a memorial event, ceremony, or museum
  • Read names of victims aloud, even a few, to humanize the scale of loss and honor individual lives.
  • Stand against hate and antisemitism by learning how to recognize it and committing to speak out when you see it.
  • Support organizations that preserve Holocaust history or fight hatred and genocide today.
