My job certainly comes with some awesome perks, one of those being the chance to travel with my family all over the UK and beyond, experiencing meaningful, joyful and precious bonding time together in beautiful places such as the award winning The Belfry Hotel and Resort in Royal Sutton Coldfield, North Warwickshire we spent a wonderful 4 days at, last week. We’re so truly grateful for these experiences.
I spent a restorative spa weekend with my best friend Rachael at The Belfry last year, and returning with the whole gang this summer to experience their new family-focused developments first-hand was such fun for us all. The perfect UK break.
Yes, it’s almost impossible to get a good family photo these days!
…I even got some spa time and daily swims in, again too! Bliss.
Just look at this heavenly place! With huge connecting rooms, stylishly designed, pristine and clean, we unsuprisingly settled into our new home with ease!
With a premium leisure club, which offers a gym, classes, and a state-of-the-art spin studio as well as The Belfry’s Wellness Studio for yoga, meditation, and relaxation classes; swimming pool, whirlpool, relaxation room and spa, there really is something for everyone!
With utterly delicious, expansive buffet feasts for both breakfast and dinner in the renowned Ryder restaurant (and à la carte if you opt for specials) with almost every world cuisine available and different dishes available each dinner time from delicate curries to perfect pasta dishes, wood-fired pizza, vibrant stir-fries, roasts, fresh fish and every dessert conceivable (banana bread pudding won our hearts), boy do The Belfry know about food.
There were also casual and equally wonderful places to dine at for lunch (we loved the cosiness of Sam’s Bar and Kitchen for sandwiches, salads and nachos) and enjoyingg bar snacks, afternoon tea and even a tipple for we adutls at the Brabazon Bar, there is no lack of places to eat there and wow, we did we eat and eat!
Thanks to gloriously warm weather, we were able to dine al fresco lots too, overlooking the glorious golf courses and acres of woodland, trees and blue skies which envelope the resort.

Yum!
Now with three golf courses, including The Brabazon and The PGA National, which are recognised as world-class, having previously hosted The Ryder Cup four times – more than any other venue in the world, if you’ve not tried a spot of golf before, a stay at The Belfry is the time!
They also have the Toptracer Driving Range, a fun interactive game for guests of all ages and any level of golfing experience, and a super mini golfing area my competitive kids became obsessed with!
With 550 acres to explore, when we weren’t eating (ha) we were outdoors, lapping up the stunning views and watching the furry and winged hotel guests with glee spanning friendly ducks, swans and squirrels who roamed around, particularly at sunset when the keen golfers had stopped playing for the day.
Facilities-wise, there really is so much on at The Belfry, that any concerns of your kids’ cries of, ‘I’m bored’ dissipate immediately on arrival.
Highlights include the many complimentary indoor children’s activities spanning splash time, the games and cinema room, colouring station, sweet cart, and even a kids’ library.
The new Woodland Adventures playground is a must-see/play too, which opened at Easter this year, and was a real hit too!
Set in the woodland area of the resort, the nature-inspired playground offered my kids hours of outdoor fun.
From huge climbing towers, swooping slides, cameo nets, and zipwires to low-level hopping stones and sunken trampolines, the trail is tucked under the shade of the forest and is the perfect place for kids, big and small to burn off energy and take refuge from the sun.
Inspired by native woodland species at the resort and using local resources, the Adventures consists of multiple zones – The Owls
Roost, Hoppers Hollow and Squirrel Play, encouraging children to swoop and soar down slides and on swings and jump on trampolines and run through tunnels. It’s vast, accessible and fun, fun, fun!
There are also go-karts for kids of all ages to enjoy, space hoppers, diggers, archery, and a chance to play basketball to boot. Told you boredom is literally impossible at The Belfry.
If you do fancy venturing out, you must plan a visit to the epic Twycross Zoo, a conservation charity with Gruffalo Discovery Land on-site just 30 minutes from The Belfry. The zoo is home to 400 animals from monkeys to penguins, leopards to butterflies, meerkats and more. You can read our review in full here.
Our minds were blown by the animals, and we shall definitely be back to both the zoo and the Belfry.
What a beautifully brilliant, sporty and super satisfying week away.
Thank you so much for such a memorable stay.
